Hello, America

So, after a a missed flight in Philadelphia, we finally landed in Boston, Massachusetts and drove to our hotel, about an hour away from the airport.

We were all pretty excited and relaxed at the beginning of the journey, but after 10 hours of flying, going through American immigration and a resulting missed flight, we were rather dead.

After we'd checked into our hotel, we fell into bed and were asleep immediately.

Only to wake at 6am.
Jet lag is a such a pain. But we started our day early (to say the least) and decided to go to town and visit a bunch of places that had some sort of "historic" significance to us.
That included the old condominium we used to live in:

Then moved onto Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Although you may not think that a cemetery is a great place to visit on holiday, Mt. Auburn is actually really lovely, due to the fact that it's a garden cemetery.

Bigelow, who founded the cemetery

Every street running through the cemetery had a lovely plant name

Tombs?

Also - handsome couple in front of the lake in the cemetery

After that we drove to the MIT lab that dad used to work at:

And after that we went on a little walk past the MIT main building and to a pizza place dad used to go to in his younger days.
