We started off by taking the metro from our hotel at Eisenhower Avenue to Smithsonian
We had to change trains at Pentagon. Metro stations in Washington are generally very dark - it's very atmospheric but make sit hard to see things...
Our first stop was the Smithsonian Museum

We then moved on into the burning sun, to walk through the National Mall.
Eventually, we ended up right in front of the Capitol.

After that, we went for lunch and then continued our walk around the Mall, walking past the White House, the Washington Memorial, the Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial.

Hello, President Lincoln
After several hours of walking in the scorching sun, we headed home and collapsed into bed.
