Nippon 2016 Day 3+4

Arriving in Ishigaki
We arrived on the Okinawan Island yesterday evening after spending some time at Haneda Airport in Tokyo and a short three hour flight. Checkout was at 11am and our flight was at quarter past two in the afternoon. We checked in and then went to explore the airport's "market place", which turned out to be a 6 floor deal, with various restaurants and designer shops. The boys and dad went to sit in the Starbucks while mum and I had a look around but we soon went to join them. The Japanese Starbucks menu had a few interesting Japanese options and I picked a "Coffee Jelly", which turned out to be a very sweet latte with bits of coffee jelly and whipped cream. The drink itself was waaaaay to sweet but if you smashed the jelly bits with your straw so you got bits of it with the latte, it was actually really nice.

Nippon 2016 Day 1 (and 2?)

"... We're doing it because we think... it's fun... I DON'T KNOW. It'd be much easier if I were older but I'm already on the internet and I'm only 8."
-Mick
Actually it's so we do something semi-useful while we're on holiday. Also - this way, when we're asked by family members and other nosy people what we got up to this summer, we won't have to tell the same stories again and again and again. (Well... we might anyway)

2015 So Far
Where the Bloody Hell did the First Half of the Year Go?? - A Memoir In Photos
The year started with "Paula Goulding & Shane McAvinchey's Dance Show Masterclass". A weekend of working on performance skills and stage presence. Although I was off to Dillingen for a short performance from Saturday night to Sunday, I was able to join for part of Saturday and most of Sunday. We worked on several steps and some choreographies - it was all lots of good fun and I was given a solo piece in the slip jig and then I died a little bit ! !

Streetlife Festival 2015
On Sunday I'd been asked to come along and watch the boys from ZebraThought perform at the Streetlife Festival on the M95.4 stage. Michael and I decided to make a little excursion out of it, seeing as the weather was so lovely and Michael had been in Denmark and I had been inside working on my last few essays for school the whole holiday.
The festival showcases plenty of physical activities that can be done on a leisurely level, such as skateboarding, rollerblading, speedmington and many more. Many stands offered to let you try these activities out, something Michael decided to take advantage of.

First we had a look at the skateboarders and Michael decided it was time to whip his camera out and do a little bit of filming. Sister is kind of proud.

Dancing Days with Matching Ties and Cara
Yesterday we were called to Neötting to do another gig with the Matching Ties. So around 4pm we piled into Josie's little car and started making our way to far-far-away.
We'd prepared well for this car trip. Oh the diet of an irish dancer...

ZebraThought - 30.10.14
As I mentioned in a past post (this one, folks!), ZebraThought was due to play at the 4You Hostel in Munich last Thursday. So I grabbed my best girlie, Holly, and we headed out.
Little did we know we were letting ourselves in on a musical out-of-body-experience.
